April Wrap Up || Books Galore, Plus All My Favourite Bands/Artists Are Releasing New Music And I Can't Even

So I read quite a few things this month! I also died because Fall Out Boy AND Paramore both released new songs and they are AMAZING. I am all kinds of emo right now.
Also, I'm going to a Comic Con in my city, and I'm going to be cosplaying as Tauriel. You know what this means......COSPLAY UPDATES OH YEAH. Once a month I shall be updating you on how my cosplay is going. I have till October 14th to complete it, and I shall start updating you come May. NOW ON WITH THE WRAP UP:
EDIT: I realize that I forgot to post this until today, the middle of May. I've had a very tough month, with exams and mental health issues and just complete exhaustion. Also there are no pictures, because blogger is being silly and won't let me upload them.

BOOKS I READ:

- A Study In Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro. I bought this book back in February, but never got around to reading it, because of books that were due very soon at the library. However, once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. 5/5 stars

- Tales From Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare, Maureen Johnson, Sara Rees Brenan and . I AM SO GLAD I READ TALES FROM SHADOWHUNTER ACADEMY. If you haven't read them, I highly suggest you do. They are so fantastic, and add so much to the world that Cassandra Clare has invented. Plus it's got a story all about Malec and it's literally not angst, but fluff! Yay! 5/5 stars

-Amulet: The Stone Keeper by Kazu Kibuishi. I saw that lots of people liked this graphic novel series, so I decided to try it. It was okay! I liked it. I thought the art was very quirky, with a hint of steampunk. The story was kind of eh, so I hope the next book is better. 3/5 stars

- Valiant Lesley Livingston. AHHHHHHH LEMME JUST SHRIEK ABOUT THIS BOOK FOREVER. You MUST read this book. It's about a Celtic warrior princess who is captured by the Romans and sold to a gladiator school for women. Basically it's amazing. However, I did feel it was rushed, just a little towards the end, and I didn't like the romance in the latter half of the book. 4/5 stars

- Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. OMG. HOW did I not read this book before now? I kept putting off, and to be honest that wasn't a smart decision, because I ABSOLUTLY LOVED SIX OF CROWS. 5/5 stars

- Geekerella by Ashely Poston. Fandoms +Cosplay+Conventions+ Cinderella = a truly amazing book. I did a review for it HERE

-Missing by Kelley Armstrong. I don't read thrillers, hardly ever. But I always, always will read Kelley Armstrong's. I did a review for it HERE

BOOKS BOUGHT:
I was sent an ARC of Geekerella by Quirk, so thanks for the ARC, Quirk! I also bought The Death Cure by James Dashner from my library.

WRITING NEWS:
GEARBOUND IS NEARLY DONE. I hit 19,000 words, and as I write this, I'm nearly at 20,000 words. Naturally when I do re-writes, there is going to be a much higher word count.

FANDOM NEWS:
-All the bands are releasing new music. I also heard that Gerard Way is going to be writing new music. #shook
-Shadowhunters got renewed for season 3!
- Apparently there might be a season 2 of Thirteen Reasons Why? I have no idea how that will work because there's only one book??????????? What is going on?
-Taherah Mafi's Shatter Me series is getting three more books!
- The Silver Chair has a director
- Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard #3 has a cover
-The Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer dropped, and it's amazing.
-Remember how Peter Jackson is adapting the book The Mortal Engines? Well Hugo Weaving (he played Elrond in LOTR and The Hobbit) has joined the cast!
- THE RAVEN CYCLE BY MAGGIE STIEFVATER IS GETTING TURNED INTO A TV SHOW IM SO EXCITED YOU HAVE NO IDEA.
- The Thor: Ragnarok trailer dropped and. OH. MY. GOD. I LOVE IT.

APRIL PLAYLIST:
-Life of the Party by All Time Low. It's slightly more pop than Last Young Renegade was, but it's still amazing.

-Hard Times by Paramore. OMG. I have not been able to stop listening to this song.

- Young and Menace by Fall Out Boy. The first time I heard it, I was like, 'what'. And then after I listened to it some more, I was like 'I have no idea what is happening but I love it'. And for all those haters who are all like 'EW SELL OUT BOY! THEY AREN'T EVEN PLAYING INSTRUMENTS!' Did you know that actually they are playing instruments? It's just that they are pitched differently, which is why they sound more electronic.

- Heaven by PVRIS. I LOVE PVRIS. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. To be honest, this is probably my second favourite song of April (next to Hard Times). It's just so amazing.

- 6/8 by Blink-182. It's Blink-182, that's all you need to know, to know that it's great.

- Told You So by Paramore. It's not as good as Hard Times, but it definitely is a cool song.

- Longview (Green Day cover) by All Time Low. GAH. IT'S SUCH A GOOD COVER.

- Coming Clean (Green Day cover) by Pierce the Veil. It's Pierce the Veil, of course I loved it.

And that's my (very late) April Wrap Up! What was your April like?

  1. I've been hesitant about whether or not to read A Study in Charlotte, but your review may have just convinced me!

    Ahhh, congrats on Gearbound! <3

WHAT?? MAGNUS HAS A COVER?? I gotta check this out, pronto. And Gerard?? New music??? I'm actually dying, Mironiel, help. And I absolutely MUST get out to see Thor: Ragnarok.

Ooh! What's The Mortal Engines about?

Awesome playlist! I've been listening to "Get Free" by Whissel (which I think you'd really like), "Top of the World" by Greek Fire, and "Bullet" by Hollywood Undead.

    1. YESS YOU MUST READ A STUDY IN CHARLOTTE, ITS GREAT.
Thanks! I had to take a break from writing it after I wrote this post, because of exams, but I'm back on track writing it and hopefully it'll be done soon.
When I heard Gerard was writing new music, I literally screamed.
The Mortal Engines is about this post apocalyptic world with this giant moving city that everybody lives in. There could be more than one city, I'm not quite sure.
Cool! I'll have to check those songs out XD

  2. Geekarella sounds like a fun summer read. Love your playlist! Blink-182 was one of my favourite bands in high-school, it`s so cool to be able to listen to their music again.
