Music = Amazing Writing

My dear creampuffs, we all know that music is essential to writing. In fact, I cannot write without music. But we all also know the struggle of searching through Youtube and Spotify, trying to find THAT ONE SONG THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR WRITING AND MAKE IT BETTER.

I've found that instrumental music is best, although if a song has lyrics that fit your book, that is also good. SO NEVER FEAR, MIRONIEL THE DARK LORD OF THE WORLD OF MUSIC IS HERE TO HELP YOU. I KNOW ALL THE MUSICS. I mean songs. Depending on the genre, you will want different styles of music. Unless we're talking about Two Steps From Hell. I swear you could be writing a story about fluffy pink killer bunnies who live on Mars and the perfect song would be a TSFH song. Besides, I love their slogan 'Music Makes You Braver'.
In the course of my life(which hasn't been all that long) I've become a music junkie, so I can help you with your quest to find that perfect song!*

*Disclaimer: I don't have all the genres on this list and here's why:
a) the genres on this list are the genres that I am familiar with writing in, or reading.
b) I haven't read many vampire novels, so that's why they are not included.

Genre: Fantasy
Music:
~Any Two Steps From Hell song. Their music is mostly epic orchestral stuff, so it's perfect for monster-slaying quests. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3swwxiALG5c0Tvom83tPGg
~Adrian Von Zeigler. His music is perfect for fantasy I swear. Also he has some other music that is good for other genres so yeah. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSeJA6az0GrNM4_-pl3HQSQ
~Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit soundtracks. If you've never heard at least ONE song off of the soundtracks, you must be from the stone age. Or possibly have been living under a rock and ignoring the past decade of pop culture. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLqLIiXXhwRbB9FhwsZpMoI6dMek1AKNlz
~Ivan Torrent. While his music is not(in my opinion) as good as Adrian's, he still has some very epic pieces of music that you should go listen to NOW. https://www.youtube.com/user/IvanTorrent
- This World Of Warcraft Night Elf music mix. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkS9LPWWit8&index=67&list=PLqLIiXXhwRbBqUcudnxnA7H0Vx6sfZBqk

~Miracles album by Two Steps From Hell. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIJA_pbjTkJc_E4WiwSwQ6QXf-a17qdZ8

Genre: Dystopian/Sci-fi
Music:
~The Hunger Games soundtracks/OSTs. Honestly, if your writing a dystopian, you need to listen to THG soundtracks. It also works for sci-fi and fantasy.
~Two Steps From Hell's Skyworld album. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIJA_pbjTkJc_E4WiwSwQ6QXf-a17qdZ8
~Adrian Von Zeigler's dark electronic music and some other songs of his work really well for his genre.
~The trailer song for the first THG movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2X6H_8MEqM&index=3&list=PLqLIiXXhwRbA4vfAzhTFERL4xJMdHurvB
~ Aftermath by Amy Lee. Honestly, this album is just right for dystopian/sci-fi. It's also Amy Lee, which is another reason to listen to it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7nvVyr3BG8&index=33&list=PLqLIiXXhwRbA4vfAzhTFERL4xJMdHurvB

Genre: Mystery:
Music:
~The BBC Sherlock soundtrack. Need I say more?

Genre: Steampunk.
Music:
~ I CAN NOT EXPLAIN HOW MUCH I LOVEEEE THIS SONG https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wfboKtXdUo&list=PL2BBDEFBBA168DF41
~Roundtable Rival by Lindsey Stirling. It's Lindsey Stirling, 'nuff said. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvipPYFebWc
~ Any steampunk song by Brandon Fiechter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZQ9KgH6Z9M

Anyway, if you know me, you are probably wondering why I have not included the best band of all time, Evanescence. Well, while some of their songs are good for characters(I have some one my playlist for my book) they aren't as a whole good for stories. So yeah. I hope this post was helpful(or possibly not, as you are probably now overwhelmed by music recs).

Namarie creampuffs, and happy writing!
