Random Things

Yesterday I went on a splurge at Chapters. Man, that store is a money pit. You walk in there and you basically want everything. AGHHH! to many books that I want and not enough money! #problemsofabooknerd    Anyway, this is what I got:

And now I have all the Art and Design Books! I need to start saving for the other three books.

                                                              a Bookmark of Arwen
developmental art for the Mirkwood elves. The red haired elf is Tauriel. I LOVE her costume!
A Bookmark of Eowyn
                                                                 love this desktop!
Song of the Week!
Awhile ago I bought this little stone wolf statue. Doesn't it look like something that Beorn would have?

And that's it for Random Things! :) lol

Christmas Carol Hobbit Parodies

the other day I felt I a little inspired to write some Christmas carol parodies. And this is what I came up with:

(this one is sung to that part from Jingle Bells 'dashing through the snow.....')

Dashing through the air, with a pair of broken claws,
Smaug is having fun, but he's smashing into houses!
The Lake is glowing red, Smaug's about to die,
Rushing through the hospital with a black arrow in his chest!

(this one is sung to the song, 'Grandma Got run over by a Reindeer')

Oh! Thorin got run over by a reindeer, walking home from the Iron Hills Christmas Eve!
You can say there's no such thing as Santa, but as for me and Dain, we believe,
He'd been drinking to much root beer, and we begged him not to go,
But he'd forgot his sword, and so he stumbled out the door into the snow.

please tell me what you think about them in le comments below!

10 More Things to Do Now That BoTFA Is Out

yay! I managed to make a second list! :)

1) Go on a Fellowship or Thorin's Company hike. To make it more realistic, invite 8 friends if your doing the Fellowship, or 13 if your doing the Company. Bring lembas, mirvour, and other food(you can find recipes for these and others on the Council of Elrond) You could even go in costume!

2) The One Ring.net is holding a special party...the One Last Party, in Los Angeles . Billy Boyd and others will be there! here's a link:https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-one-last-party-there-and-back-again#home anyway, if, (like me) you are unable to make it, why not hold your own One Last Party with other Hobbit fans?

3) start a Middle-earth club with weekly meetings. There are two ways you can do this: online, or in real life. I was in an online one, and while it lasted, it was really fun!

4) Do a group RPG(role-play-game). The Council of Elrond has some good ones you can join, or you can do one with your friends.

5) Learn a language from Middle-earth. Again, the Council of Elrond has some good 'programs' for this. I would suggest getting an account so that the (admins?) can mark your work.

6) If you have long hair, try doing some elvish hair styles. Loespie(I think that's her youtube channel name) has some samazing LoTR hair tutorials, she also did Tauriel's hair.

7) Listen to the whole of 'Their Taking The Hobbits To Isengard: 10 Hours' non stop. (I am STILL trying to do this lol) WARNING: THIS MAY ADDLE YOUR BRAIN FOR ABOUT 24 HOURS LOL.

8) Make a LOTR/TH t-shirt, using freezer paper. I have not done this yet, so your on your own! just google 'freezer paper'

9) memorise your favorite parts from LOTR/TH (the BOOKS not the Films, though that can be fun too) and then recite it for family and friends. Maybe you could even do a dialogue with a friend. A good piece for that is the part between Smaug and Bilbo.

10) create a Middle-earth garden. The Council of Elrond has some good ideas for this.

10 things to do now that BoTFA is out

So BoTFA is now in theaters, and my life has ended. I mean, the movies have spanned the whole of my life as a teenager so far. For 3 years I grew up on excitement, adventure and new stuff on the Hobbit almost every day. Following the Hobbit news was a hobby . Thorin and Fili and Kili were like family. Now their dead, the films are over, and I don't have a hobby anymore. The Journey is over. There is still hope that PJ will make the Silmarillion. Personally, I think he should do The Children of Hurin, which is set in the First Age, and would be as epic, as long, and on a scale equal, (maybe more) of LOTR and TH. But until then, here are some things you can do to save yourself from 'no-more-Hobbit-movies-depression' as I like to call it.

1) celebrate Durin's Day,(the last day of autumn) Happy Hobbit Day, (Sept.22, Bilbo's and Frodo's B-day) and the day that Sauron was defeated(March. 17(by our calendar))

2) cosplay characters. srrsly, this will help a ton.

3) re-read the Silmarillion, The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings every year in that order.

4) when the extended version of BoTFA comes out, do a six movie extended version marathon. To quote PJ, '24 hours of joy' lol.

5) write fanfics, make fan-edits, and that sort of stuff.

6) join a LOTR/TH website, Like the One Ring.net and the Council of Elrond.com. The One Ring is all about news and live chats and debates and stuff. The Council of Elrond is an informational website, filled with crafts, lessons in elvish, recipes and more. If you become a member of the Council of Elrond, you can use the forums and PMing. You can also send in your elvish lessons to be marked and corrected. To PM me on it, my user name is Mironiel_EA.

7) decorate your bedroom Middle-earth style. The Council of Elrond has some great ideas for this.

8) collect Hobbit merchandise

9) learn to play LOTR music on the piano

10) draw a Thorin's map, or a map of Middle-earth and frame it in a Middle-earth looking frame.

I have kept my BoTFA tix, so I'll always remember, the good, the bad, those who survived, and those who did not. It is memory, precious and pure.....(heheh I had fun sticking in those quotes!)

so every elf-maid needs a necklace, right? so: I made a elven necklace for my self.
I put on top of my DoS Art and Design book to make it look *ahem* professional. If you guys want, I could post a tutorial on how to make this. It's just twisted wire and a glass bead.

YESTERDAY I MADE HOBBIT COOKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! XD LOL. sorry for the caps, but I LOVE the way they turned out.

at the top is a version of Kili's rune stone. And then I did Bilbo's hobbit hole door, and it even has Gandalf's mark! (Mark?! what mark? I had it painted less than a week ago! lol) and then I did a cookie with the dwarvish rune 'D' that's on Thorin's map. I *tried* to do the One Ring and Sting, but they didn't work. :(. but......I plan  on trying again.

It's almost Christmas!!! I love Christmas, especially as it is Jesus's birthday :) Once, one of my teachers showed me this amazing Christmas craft from Denmark, and it can only be made with a special paper from Denmark. I can't remember how to make it, but there are many different patterns, and I made these:(you have to weave the paper, and trust me...it's soo hard)

and then, the other day, I was wondering what a 'Gothic' and 'Steampunk' Tauriel outfit would look like, and this is what I came up with:

so please, in le comments below, tell me what you think of them! :)

I like lots of different music artists, and this are the best:

Lindsey Stirling. AMAZING ARTIST! she is a hip-hop, dubstep, dancing violinist, and her music is soo great. She has two albums, her self titled album 'Lindsey Stirling' and her latest album, 'Shatter Me' which features Lizzy Hale from Hale Storm and Dia Frampton from Meg and Dia.
Then I also love Evanescence, a gothic rock/classical band, the lead singer is Amy Lee. They have a number of albums, 'Fallen', 'The Open Door' and their self titled album  'Evanescence'.
Then I also like The Gardiner Sisters, they are lovely. (they are all sisters!) They have many EPs, my favs being 'Gardiner Sister' , 'L.O.V.E', and their latest EP, 'Better'.
Then I like Cimorelli. They are also all sisters, Catholic, and really amazing! They have some Ep's, 'Made in America' 'Cim Fan EP' 'Renegade' and their 'Christmas EP' which isn't out yet.
Then I like Adrian Von Zeigler.( because I'm a geek) He does Celtic music, fantasy music, all sorts of stuff. His music can be relaxing, or exciting.
these are two example's of is music. The first is amazing and calming. The second is exciting and full of adventure.
And of course, being a LOTR and TH fan, I love LOTR and TH soundtracks. I  also like Two Steps from Hell, (awful name I know!) they do epic movie soundtracks and movie trailer music, and I like World of War craft soundtracks.(no I do NOT like the game. It's a bad game, plus it's elves are a complete disgrace)
I also love Taylor Swift. She's amazing.

I LOVE Evanescene, I think this is like my fav song from them :)

the Battle of the Five Armies

so I went and watched BoTFA last night. Gods it was the most sad, intense film I have ever seen. I was crying not even 5 minuets in!!

                                        *SPOILER ALERT*SPOLIER ALERT*
watching Fili get killed by Azog and then thrown at Thorin's feet was the probably the saddest part. When Kili got killed defending Tauriel from Bolg, I was soo  heart broken...and while he was dying they were like staring at each other...and Kili knew that she loved him....*sobs uncontrollably* at least Thorin's death wasn't to hard to watch, otherwise I would not be here to write this. Fili's was the hardest death to watch...if you have not watched the movie and are reading this here's a little warning: THIS FILM IS AN EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOSTER AND WILL DESTROY YOUR LIFE. I am like scarred for life.....*crys* but over all, this was an amazing movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and what made it all the nicer, is that I went in my Tauriel costume!!

Mae Govannen! ( well met) my name is Mironiel Blokzyl, and this is my blog! :) I am a totally obsessed LOTR and TH fan. I love horses, reading, cosplay, (I just finished my Tauriel cosplay and wore it to BoTFA! XD)   writing fanfic, crafting, Highland dancing, and drawing! On my blog I'll be doing Book Reviews, Music lists, TBRs, Book Recommendations and more! I hope you enjoy your stay!
